The Apprentice Perspective within CWF

National Apprenticeship Week 2023 is celebrated by the Cathedrals’ Workshop Fellowship by showcasing the apprentice’s journey and work at their respective home Cathedral, Minster or Abbey. The craft skills gap in the built heritage profession is ever evident following the pandemic. The acquisition and retention of these skills by the apprenticeship schemes is essential in the 21st Century. The critical work of our funders, associated organisations and Cathedrals is an important element to close the gap and create the future stars of conservation and restoration, therefore preserving our heritage assets and community settings.

This week we’re shining a spotlight on our NVQ Level 2 & Level 3 apprentices, who are all studying relevant courses before progressing onto the CWF Foundation degree in Applied Historic Building Conservation and Repair.
